Wayne Butler is a solicitor with extensive experience in family, criminal and commercial law.

A valued member of our team who is passionate and focused on realistic outcomes for over 20 years. Wayne Completed his degree in Bachelor of Law in 2018 and was admitted to practice law in 2019. His years of advocating for the rights of children, shared parenting and just outcomes have positively impacted the lives of many of his clients.

Wayne was a foundation member of the Shared Parenting Council of Australia which formed in 2002 to deliver constructive change and reforms to the Family Law Act and subsequently deliver change to Child Support Agency operations and related legislation.

He was appointed as the Executive Secretary in 2003 and has retained the post since.

Wayne has been involved in preparing submissions and representations to Government since 2000 in relation to Family Law and Child Support Legislation changes.

Wayne has had numerous visits to APH in Canberra as well as dealings with the Government drafting office. He is an active advocate for Family Law and Child Support legislative reform and has a member status on the FaHCSIA CSNSEG (Child Support National Stakeholder Engagement group) Bi-monthly meetings, as a key member and represents the views of many shared parenting and family related volunteer parenting groups associated with the SPCA (Shared Parenting Council of Australia). These include the Family Law Reform Association, SRL-Resources group, Lone Fathers Association and Parenting without Partners who have some thirty thousand members. The views are debated and put to various Government agencies for action.

Wayne has received the following Awards:

• Winner of the prestigious SPCA champion of children award 2007.

• Service to family’s Senate award presented in Parliament House in 2007.

• Recognition in the House of Representatives for work done in advancing the interests of families after separation and divorce.
